Rainy Lake is an All Sports Lake and is about 180-Acres with depths of around 100- Feet is spots. Fishing here is known for Walleye as well as northern Pike, Bass, and Perch. Great for Water Skiing, Tubing, Jet Skis as well as Kayaking and Swimming. Rainy Lake also has a quiet time between 7:00 PM and 10:00 AM with no High Speed Boating or Jet Skiing. There is a Common area with a Boat Launch and Picnic Area for all Association Members to enjoy.
Millersburg is located about 15 miles southwest of Rogers City and approximately five miles south of Ocqueoc Falls, the only waterfalls in the lower peninsula. North East Michigan offers Ecxcellent Hunting opportunities for whitetail Deer, Black Bear, Turkey Grouse, Woodcock, Waterfowl. Ocqueoc River and Several Trout Streams in the area offer great fishing as well. Elk can also be viewed in the Area and there is a Lottery Permit system for a few Michigan Elk Hunters each year.
Clear Lake State Park and Tomahawk Creek Flooding are to the South West about 20-Minute Drive.
Snowmobiling, Snow Shoeing, Cross Country Skiing, are favorite Winter Activates. The Silver Creek Snowmobile Trail runs right past Rainy Lake, on Rainy Lake Road, and thru Millersburg.
Rogers City known as the “Nautical City” is not far from Rainy Lake with Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary and Shipwreck Tours. Excellent Fishing for Chinook Salmon, Atlantic Salmon, Pink Salmon, Lake Trout, and Steelhead, and an occasional Walleye among others, with a great fish-cleaning station on site.
Alpena overlooks Lake Huron’s Thunder Bay. Explore the shipwrecks of Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary on the 65-foot glass-bottomed Lady Michigan! Thunder Bay on Lake Huron Offer Excellent Fishing Opportunities as well, similar to Rogers City and Hammond Bay. Alpena is a Larger town with Hospitals and wider variety of Shopping. Alpena County Regional Airport in partnership with SkyWest Airlines operating as a Delta connection and also serves the General Aviation Community.
Cheboygan is about a 45-Minute Drive from Millersburg and is the gateway to Michigan’s Fame Inland Waterway. The Cheboygan Locks open the Cheboygan River to Lake Huron.
Mackinaw City is about an hour’s drive with Ferries running to Mackinac Island, or you can take you own Boat to Mackinac Island State Harbor.
